Based on the input of loyal M-Edge customers, this custom designed booklight has been developed to work seamlessly with most of M-Edge's jackets for the Amazon Kindle (2nd Generation). I ordered the light in order to read in the middle of the night or early morning hours without waking the house, and it is perfect! Although it changes the fit of the kindle cover (not drastically), it does exactly what it's supposed to do: lights up the page, not the room. When I first received the light, it was defective so I called M-Edge and they immediately sent me a replacement light. It worked!

Although this item is labeled for the Kindle e-reader, I bought it to use with my M-Edge Executive cover for the Nook. It fits perfectly, with its tab sliding into the purpose-made pocket behind the Nook. The light swivels 180 degrees up, then you bend the gooseneck to focus the light on the screen, adjusting so it's not in your way and not causing a glare reflection; not hard to do. It swivels down when not in use so that its gooseneck lies down the inside spine of the book cover, which can then be closed with no problem. The light is bright but focused, throwing its circular beam on the Nook screen and not much else. The low setting is perfectly adequate for me to read in bed with the lights out. Battery life seems very good; after a month I'm still on my first (lithium) AAA battery.

I liked the color and shape of the booklight, but it would NOT stay in place. The light was NOT bright enough either. I read in bed at night with a booklight and it just was not enough light for me. I put it away and I am back reading with my old booklight.

The booklight is very bright and easy to insert under the book but it constantly falls down.It will not stay in place while positioned over the book and I constantly have to reposition it. I also have to remove it when I finish reading. I thought I could close it up in my M-Edge bookcover but cannot. I have a 2nd generation Kindle. It is ok to use-better than nothing but not very happy with it.

This Kindle booklight works great with the M-Edge Prodigy Synthetic Leather Kindle Jacket, it fits inside so the cover closes and then you can flip it up to use. I like that it has high & low light settings. Haven't used it long enough for the battery to run out so I'd say it lasts well. Good price too.
