This USB Adapter Rocks September 1, 2010 MGabbard 4 USB ports in a small form factor. Clean lines. Great product. Perfect for those with multiple smart phones. And it's a great value too. Save yourself all those ports on your power strip.

Does not support fast charging on Nexus One August 19, 2010 Jason Merrill (Boston, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My Nexus One smartphone, like I believe many others, supports slow or fast charging depending on whether the USB cable is plugged into a computer or a power outlet. For the phone to recognize that it should use fast charging, the data pins in the cable should be shorted together. Apparently the ACUSB4 does not do this, as my N1 will only charge in slow Charging (USB) mode when plugged into this device with a normal data cable. For comparison, the USB wall charger that came with my wife's Samsung Vibrant charges my N1 in fast Charging (AC) mode. It would be possible to use a special charging cable to get the same effect, but I don't want to carry around multiple cables.
I expected a charger providing 2A total to get this right, but apparently I was wrong. Other than that, I'm satisfied with it so far.
Works great, know the limitations August 12, 2010 John K. (Riverside, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First off, judging from the reviews this product is either loved or hated. That's probably more due to (unfortunately) the newness of using USB as a charging system: While definitely a good idea to standardize charging cords, it's not foolproof yet. My own personal experience has been great. I haven't tried charging more than two devices at one time (which works fine), but the best thing about this device is being able to leave up to four USB charging cables plugged in all the time, then you just plug your phone in to the USB cable whenever you need a charge; no need to hunt down the other end of the cord or the thing that plugs into the wall. I also bought this charging station to go with it: Shift3 Charging Station (there are others available, search Amazon for "charging station" or "charging valet") and they make an especially good combination since the charging station keeps all the wires hidden.
Back to this product, I would've given it more than four stars if it were rated for more than two amps since I'm pretty confident four devices would draw at least that much. But this product has a lot of things going for it and is definitely worth trying out.
The PERFECT Accessory for a European Traveler August 11, 2010 Vivek M. Chawla I spent 32 days in Europe in early summer 2010, and this adapter worked to perfection everywhere I went. I would simultaneously charge an iPhone, iPod Nano, Motorola Droid, and HTC EVO4 whenever I got to a hotel, and it never took more than 3 hours to get a full charge on all devices. This is EXACTLY the kind of performance that I had been hoping for, and I was thrilled that this device delivered so well.
The only thing I could not charge was my Nikon Coolpix S8000 digital camera. It seems like this camera is somewhat picky about what charger / adapter you can plug into. I needed to bring a couple of European plug adapters with me so I could use the adapter that came with the camera. Kind of a bummer, but I've got to admit that being able to charge 4 out of my 5 devices meant that this 4-outlet adapter was still a huge win for me.
Finally, for anyone wondering if they can still use this charger after returning to the U.S., the answer is YES! One of the plug adapters included with this product is the standard 2-prong North America plug.
This was an awesome purchase from start to finish, and I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I wholeheartedly recommend this product.
